Course Aims

In this course, students will learn, understand, and appreciate the basic concepts of semiconductor physics and the working principles of semiconductor optoelectronic devices, such as light-emitting diodes, laser diodes, and photodiodes. These devices are the essential components in today's consumer optoelectronics, IT communication, robotic control, industrial instrumentation, and so on.

Continuous Assessment: 50%
Examination: 50%
Examination Duration: 2 hours
Remark:
To pass the course, students are required to achieve at least 30% in course work and 30% in the examination. Also, 75% laboratory attendance rate must be obtained.
