Issues and Debates: This is a Discussion Forum invites comments on individual
articles, reviews research resources, or a particular thematic area as a whole. Through
its Discussion Forum, Sociological Research Online hopes to stimulate debate on key issues
within sociology, including interactive debate between the authors and the readers of
articles. Comments will be published as part of the thematic issue itself and will be
available to other academics reading it. All comments will be reviewed to confirm
appropriate professional and ethical conduct in the way they are written, and racist,
sexist and other derogatory remarks and the practices known as 'flaming' will constitute
grounds for non-publication.
