Professor and Mrs Norman W. M. Ko Art Enlightenment Awards 2023/24 (Deadline Extended)

 

The Awards is set up to support the enlightenment of promising student talents and to broaden their mind and global exposure in fine arts and/or art-related areas (i.e. playing classical musical instruments, singing art music, ballet, sculpture art and painting).

 

Award Value

The Awards aim to fund student’s participation in activities outside Hong Kong, for example, to participate in overseas programme/performance/competition, apprenticeship at art-related organisations, showcasing works at exhibitions or art festivals, that could contribute to broadening their exposure. The value of each award is HK$10,000.

 

Eligibility

The Awards shall be awarded to full-time UGC-funded local undergraduate students who have met the following criteria:

  • Have achieved a CGPA of 3.0 or above in the last semester/term of study;
  • Have obtained recommendations from the relevant art professionals/organisations, with preference given to members of the University’s recognised cultural groups/student groups, or have actively participated in the University’s cultural or arts related activities; and
  • Have demonstrated passion and excellence (e.g. achievements in international renowned organisations, track records of promoting arts etc.) in fine arts and/or performing arts related areas.

 

Documents for Application

  • A completed application form
  • A copy of CityUHK academic report (AIMS version is acceptable)
  • Recommendations from the art professionals/organisations, and/or valid proof (e.g. letters issued by the activity organization) to demonstrate track records in fine arts and/or art-related areas
  • A proposal together with a budget plan on the planned programme to be held outside Hong Kong within 6 months (i.e. by 30 September 2024)
