Course Aims

This is an advanced course on public international law.  The aim is:

  • To provide a future oriented, discovery based knowledge of legal principles of public international law; 
  • To familiarise students with major issues in this field and allow them through advanced discussions to appreciate nature, scope, objective and enforceability of international law principles;
  • To encourage students to discover the meaning and purpose of the international law through research and
  • To ignite a passion and motivation to discover knowledge in this area.

This course is based on interesting combination of topics which provide extensive panoramic view of the contemporary international law in the modern global community, and also endeavours to develop liberal critical thinking on core issues in this area.  This programme seeks to impart necessary professional skills to students and allow them, based on their knowledge, not only to comment but also advice in the field of international law.
