Background: In the past two years, the Library has spearheaded two E-book consortia, namely Cicada comprising of 48 libraries in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and ERALL (Electronic Resources Academic Library Link) consisting of 8 UGC-funded libraries. As a result of the consortial effort, all members have acquired and shared a large number of E-books in a very cost-effective way. To continue the endeavor, and to update members of the current trend in collection development and consortial purchasing of E-books, we have invited consortium leaders from U.S., Australia and Mainland China to share their experiences in collaborative collection development and consortial licensing of E-Resources. This seminar, organized and financed by City University Library, will help members broaden their horizon from the point of view of an individual library to that of a consortium.
