Managing fitness is fun and easy in the 21st century. Taking this belief as its foundation, this course develops students’ knowledge of fitness from the physiological, psychological, economical and technological perspectives, thereby helping them to manage their own personal fitness.
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to apply contemporary theories of fitness to analyse the critical factors of personal fitness (e.g., nutrition, weight and exercise); assess their own level of fitness (in terms of diet/weight control, mental health, stress etc.); and design and implement a personal fitness enhancement programme that enables them to enjoy a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
To achieve these learning outcomes, the course employ effective and interactive teaching and learning activities, such as physical fieldwork tutorials, diet and activity analysis, virtual fitness trainer lab tutorials, case studies and online language companion tutoring.
