Demystifying the creation of successful technology ventures, this course introduces the foundation of technology entrepreneurship, presents in-depth discussions of interesting business cases, and has students practice opportunity analysis and business model design in a group project.
Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students will experience many critical phases of idea development and evaluation. Real entrepreneurs will be invited to the class to share their interesting stories. Student may also go to technology incubators to experience the life as technology entrepreneurs.
The course aims to establish an unbiased view about technology ventures and critical evaluation of the enabling role of ICT (e.g, such as the Internet, mobile and wearable devices, Big Data technologies, artificial intelligence). It also equips students with the mindsets, frameworks, and skills to perform well in technology entrepreneurship practice.
