This major aims to:
- Prepare graduates for responsible positions in the finance area of the industrial, commercial, financial and government sectors in Asia-Pacific rim;
- Provide students with knowledge of the major tools and theories of finance, and their applications to solve business problems in the financial markets through discovery-based learning and teaching;
- Develop students’ analytical ability to handle financial problems facing non-financial corporations and financial institutions;
- Develop students’ analytical skills to use derivative instruments in portfolio management, product design, and corporate hedging; and
- Enable students to make competent investment and financial decisions using innovative methods where applicable, so that these decisions are compatible with the underlying institutional frameworks.

Upon successful completion of this major, students should be able to:
