Course Aims

This course aims to provide students with a holistic understanding of and a practical implication of urban design by focusing on local issues in urban design and planning in Hong Kong. This studio offers an innovative interdisciplinary approach to urban design. The course aims to provide students with new disciplinary tools for the analysis of current Hong Kong territorial developments and for the proposal of the most advanced urban design strategies aiming at the comprehensive improvement of the local built environment. The project dealt with both regional planning and urban design scales and the course integrate relevant knowledge of urban economics and regional planning as well as green buildings and architecture.
