Course Aims | ||||||||||
This course covers two areas of the study of sounds of languages, phonetics and phonology, and their relationship. Phonetics, the study of the phonetic properties of speech sounds provides, provides the basis for phonological analysis of the structures and patterns of the sounds in languages. Also covered in the course are the methods of analysis of phonetic and phonological data from a variety of languages. | ||||||||||
