WANG Yuyang


1979 年生於哈爾濱,2004 年畢業於中央戲劇學院,2008 年獲中央美術學院碩士學位。 現任教於中央美術學院實驗藝術學院。

Born in Harbin in 1979, Wang graduated from The Central Academy of Drama in 2004 and obtained a master’s degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2008. He teaches at the School of Experimental Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts.

一條隨意手繪的曲線通過電腦解析並編碼生成可以通過腦機介面技術識別的視覺圖形編碼,這些編碼用一定的時間序列展示在螢幕上。當觀眾注視這個被「認為」是關於光的視覺影像作品時,觀眾腦部所產生的腦電信號與生成視覺圖形編碼的手繪曲線形成了相同的波形。這也就意味著在觀眾腦部擁有了隨意畫出的曲線圖形。觀眾的腦部某種程度成為了紀錄並展示「繪畫」(手繪曲線)的空間與載體。

傳輸的過程是觀眾在欣賞一個「光」的視覺作品時完成的,他不被觀眾所察覺卻進入到觀眾的腦部。作品與觀眾產生了最為直接根本的互動,這裡的互動與作品直接帶來的體驗性互動不同,更與傳統作品所謂的「互動」截然相反,這個互動變得具有不可抗拒的隱形性。同時這個互動的結果對於個體生理而言具有一致性。

在播放視覺圖形編碼螢幕的對面牆上安放著手繪曲線的原稿。觀眾在這裡得到了「三條」線紙上的手繪曲線(視覺)腦部的反映曲線(生理)理解的觀念曲線(意識)。

A randomly drawn freehand curve can be analysed and encoded by computers, and then identified as visual graphical codes by the brain-computer interface (BCI), which in turn can be displayed on a screen sequentially.

When the audience looks at this piece of work “being described” as a video creation related to light, their electroencephalography (EEG) signals and the freehand curve, as it is transformed into visual graphical codes, become the same waveform. That implies that the audience’s brains also carry that randomly drawn freehand curve and, thus, to a certain extent, that they are also the space for the recording and the carrier of the display “drawings” (i.e. the freehand curve).

The transmission (mentioned above) is completed when the audience appreciates this piece of visual art as being related to light, and, without their noticing, it then enters the audience’s brains. The work itself with the audience together create the most direct and fundamental interaction. This type of interaction is different from the experimental interaction, brought about by the work itself, and is utterly different from the so-called “interaction” generated by traditional works. It is irresistibly invisible and its effect on individuals is consistent.

The original sketch of the freehand curve is hung on the wall opposite the screen playing the visual, graphical codes. There, the audience sees three lines – the freehand curve on paper (visual), the reflected curve in the brain (physiological), and the perceived conceptual curve (consciously).
