在這個時代，我們身邊充滿機械。然而日常中機械是隱藏的。我們經常看到時間，但看不到鐘錶的機芯；看見汽車，但看不到引擎。大部份人看見機械的功能，而看不見機械本身。

成年人專注於目的，工具本身就變成透明。就像我們寫字，專注於詞句筆劃，從不會多想手部的結構和運作有多精細巧妙一樣。但這並不代表我們雙手的構造不值得讚嘆。

在我的機械設計中，我經常會強調機械本身的存在。機械的功能在這裡並非唯一的目的，機械本身的原理、構造、規律等將被呈現。

而將機械具體呈現，歸根究底，大概是為了滿足某種好奇心和童心。

We are surrounded by many machines in this era but the machine of our everyday life is actually invisible. We often read the time but we do not see its mechanics. We often see cars, but we do not see their engines. Most of us see the functions of a machine but not the machines per se.

Adults tend to focus on results / purposes and, therefore, the tools (that produce the results / achieve certain purposes) become transparent / invisible. When we write, we focus on the language and the strokes, but we do not really think about the delicate structure and the movement of our hands. However, this does not mean that the structure of our hands is insignificant.

When I design a machine, I always stress the existence of the machine itself. The function of the machine is not the only focal point; I also expose its principle, structure and law. To present the machine itself, after all, is to satisfy some sort of curiosity and the child within.
